Switzerland to England cycle ride

Thank you for visiting my blog! I’m Darren Evans and on 2 August 2015 I will start a bike tour from my home in Düdingen (Switzerland) to my childhood home in Tavistock (England). The route is about 650 miles (1050 km) long. I will arrive in Tavistock on 9 August. During my ride, it will be possible to:

My father has battled with Parkinson’s for nearly thirty years. I have seen first-hand the negative impact Parkinson’s can have. I am funding this trip myself, so all money raised will go to Parkinson’s UK. This Money will be used to support the promising work towards finding a cure.

I enjoy training for and taking part in running, cycling, duathlon, and triathlon races. I’m always looking for new interesting challenges, especially if it can also somehow help other people. I have often thought about cycling back to my home town, so I came up with this idea of raising awareness of Parkinson’s and money at the same time. My preparation will involve cycling as often as I can for 8 weeks or so. I have quite a short time window because on 26 April I will take part in the London Marathon (also for Parkinson’s UK).
